Shabby Chic Medallion

Hello everyone…I’m Back!!!

Today I have a quick card that can be easily mass produced.  This card measures 5 ¼” x 5 ¼”. I chose the Shabby Chic Technique to give this card an aged antique look.  This card works great for any occasion.

 

Shabby Chic Technique

 Wrinkle cardstock or patterned paper by balling up the paper then straightening it back out. You may need to repeat this a few times to get the look you want.   The crumpled paper can then be chalked or inked lightly. The chalk or ink will mainly adhere to the creases making the paper look worn.  

Ink or chalk the edges of your paper for a distressed look. Hold your paper in one hand and rub the edges along your ink pad.   Using Stampin’ Up!  NEW Distressing Essentials makes this project complete in minutes.   Distressing Essentials includes tools that make it easier than ever for you to create a distressed, vintage appearance on your projects.  Includes the following tools:

· Sanding block and emery board for distressing Designer Series paper or smoothing the edges of paper that has been adhered to chipboard

· Precision files for sanding intricate die cuts and sanding in tight areas

· Blendable vintage ink and stamp for creating an aged appearance:  Tea Stain, Charcoal, Mahogany, Navy ink

 Customers:  To place your order, shop online on my  website  (click Shop Now) and enter the item codes in your order, you may add other Stampin’ Up! items to your order.  Then, click check out.  The Order Confirmation Page will appear, click Download Now link or the Download Manager link.  Select either MAC or Windows.  Then, select For Other Applications if you are using our graphic downloads in another program.  When prompted, select RUN.   When you are finished downloading all your files, open My Digital Studio and you will see all your new files available for use.  If you need additional assistance or any further questions, please contact me. 

 

 

Sick as a dog!

 I’ve had the Wellness Wishes stamp set for a while and I finally decided to create this daring Get Well card.  I never have a Get Well card handy… so, here is my solution!  

 

In my opinion, a Get Well card should be bright.  Who likes a dull get well card…???  Dull things make you feel DULL! YUK!!! When choosing color combinations, I always like to choose colors to go along with the theme.  I would not use pastel colors for a beach party invitation or bright colors for a sympathy card.  There is a time and place for certain things, right!?!

TIPs

§  Use the Stamp-a-ma-jig to help you stamp straight (I didn’t use mine).  Whoops, just a bit crooked.

§  Make a color pallet with the imaging sheet from the Stamp-a-ma-jig to water color with the blender pen.  I outlined the images with the Stampin’ Markers then colored/filled in with the blender pen (pulling the ink from the color pallet/imaging sheet).  

§  Place the imaging sheet under water to clean.

Bleaching Technique

I used the Bleaching Technique to complete my swaps for Regionals in Lafayette, LA.  The regional was awesome (as usual) and it is always a wonderful opertunity to meet so many talented demonstrators.

Bleaching Technique

Supplies: 

· Bleach (fresh, newly purchased bleach is best)

· Disposable type container

· Paper towels

· Stamps – outline images work best

· cardstock

Directions:

1. Be sure you are in a well ventilated area, and you may want to wear old clothing 

2.     To make a “bleach pad” fold a paper towel or 2 in fourths and place it in a sandwich size disposable plastic container

3.     Pour some bleach onto the paper towel – enough to make it wet but not soaking or dripping wet

4.    Stamp your outline image stamp into the bleach pad – but be careful not to let the bleach puddle up on your stamp

5.     Stamp immediately onto cardstock, holding stamp for a few seconds to let the bleach fully penetrate the cardstock.  Lift stamp and watch the cardstock change color

6.    Experiment with different colors of cardstock… not many bleach to white - it’s fun to see what color they turn!

7.     Clean stamps immediately with Stampin’ Mist, dry and store.

8.     Dispose of your “bleach pad” when done stamping for the day.
